Legal translation

We cover 56 languages: all 24 European as well as Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Turkish, Hindi, Arabic and some others.

Legal translation should not deviate from the source text and all the provisions must be construed unambiguously. We know that incorrect translation may involve litigation risks for the customer and we act responsively.

Our translators have two degrees – in applied linguistics and in law. They are familiar with legal terminology and legislation of the source language countries. They are aware of the political, social and cultural context of the target language countries. In addition to proof-readers and editor each document is reviewed by a legal counsel in order to avoid mistakes and ambiguities.

What kind of documents we translate

For our major international accounts, we translate:

  • statutory acts and regulations,
  • contracts, agreements, deeds,
  • letters of attorney, constituent documents,
  • judicial documents,
  • supporting documents: certificates, licenses, warrants,
  • local legal documents: regulations, instructions, provisions.

How to make a translation legally binding

For a translated document to have the same legal effect as the original it must be legalized. The method of legalization is determined by the country of origin. You might need a stamp of the translation agency, notarial certification or apostille endorsement.

The easiest is to have the documents rubber stamped by a translation agency. If an institution does not recognize the stamp of the translation agency, the document is additionally notarized.

If you are submitting documents to an embassy you will most likely be required to supply an apostille endorsement. It certifies the genuineness of the officer, his signature and stamp on the document. An apostille endorsement is required when you are applying for a residence permit in another country or seeking to establish a legal entity.

We can have your documents notarized or apostilled on your behalf.

Pricing

The price of legal translation is determined by the urgency, domain, and characteristics of the documents. Scanned documents will require additional processing. This represents an extra cost.

Stamping by the translation agency is free of charge. Having your documents notarized and endorsed by an apostille represents an additional service.
